NOOR AL HAWA, UNE BELLE HISTOIRE QUI CONTINUE …

Noor Al Hawa (Makfi) continue de faire plaisir à son jeune entraîneur, Elias Mikhalides. Après avoir remporté le Grand Prix de Compiègne (L) et avoir offert à son entraîneur une première victoire – et donc une première Listed –, le représentant d’Ali Hamad Al Attiya lui a offert ce mercredi soir son premier Groupe dans le Grand Prix de Vichy (Gr3). Noor Al Hawa n’a pas tremblé. Il a eu un parcours en or dans le sillage de l’animateur, Sajjad (Siyouni). Dans la ligne droite, il s’est montré dur, comme à son habitude, pour repousser trois attaques, qui n’ont en réalité fait que le pousser. Golden Legend (Doctor Dino), longtemps à l’arrière-garde, a bien fini et se classe deuxième à une longueur un quart. Elle devance Subway Dancer (Shamardal) d’une tête. Potemkin (New Approach), venu à la corde, est troisième à une encolure.

Rester sur 2.000m, tactique payante. Après la victoire de Noor Al Hawa dans le Grand Prix de Compiègne, Elias Mikhalides avait dit que le Prix Messidor (Gr3), qui se dispute dimanche à Maisons-Laffitte, pouvait être au programme du cheval. L’entourage de Noor Al Hawa a fait le choix de le laisser sur 2.000m et le pari s’est avéré payant. Sous l’entraînement d’Andreas Wohler, Noor Al Hawa avait remporté deux Grs3 en Allemagne ainsi que le Qatar Derby (Gr1 local). Noor Al Hawa avait rejoint les boxes d’Elias Mikhalides avant le Grand Prix de Compiègne, l’entraîneur s’étant installé environ un mois avant cette Listed.

Direction Deauville ! Elias Mikhalides a déclaré au micro d’Equidia : « Le cheval court super. Il est très dur. Il avait plutôt l’habitude de courir sur 1.600m, mais nous avons décidé de le rallonger un peu car il a beaucoup d’action. Cela a l’air de fonctionner. Il devrait aller sur le Gontaut-Biron puis sur le Dollar, le week-end de l’Arc. » Son jockey, Théo Bachelot, a ajouté : « C’est mon premier Grand Prix de Vichy. J’avais gagné pas mal de courses dans le passé ici, sans réussir à attraper le Groupe ou une Listed. C’est vraiment super pour l’entourage du cheval. Il est très endurci, il a couru dans le monde entier. Il était encore à Doha cet hiver et s’est bien comporté [deuxième de H.H. The Emirs Trophy (Gr1 local), ndlr]. J’ai eu une bonne course derrière le leader. C’est un cheval qui a beaucoup d’abattage. Il s’est montré le plus dur. Et le plus fort, simplement. »

Golden Legend en progrès. Gagnante du Prix Bertrand de Tarragon (Gr3) l’an dernier à Maisons-Laffitte, Golden Legend est une bonne jument. Son début d’année 2018 a été plus compliqué. Cinquième des Dahlia Stakes (Gr2), elle restait sur une sixième place dans le Prix Corrida (Gr2) mais elle montre ce mercredi qu’elle est en progrès. La pensionnaire d’Henri-François Devin rassure ce mercredi.

Subway Dancer, et encore les Tchèques ! Cinquième de ce Grand Prix de Vichy l’an passé, Subway Dancer fait mieux cette année, se classant proche troisième. Il réalise sa meilleure performance de 2018, ayant vécu un début d’année compliqué, même s’il avait déjà montré du mieux en prenant la cinquième place de la Coupe (Gr3) à ParisLongchamp. Subway Dancer est entraîné en République Tchèque par Zdeno Koplik. Les entraîneurs de ce pays passent une bonne semaine à Vichy. Ils ont ainsi signé un doublé ce mardi sur l’hippodrome de Bellerive, puisque Nagano Gold (Sixties Icon), entraîné par Vaclav Luka, a remporté le Prix Hubert Baguenault de Puchesse – Défi du Galop (L), tandis qu’Hermonia (Kitten’s Joy), entraînée par Dalibor Torok, a remporté le Prix de Bellerive (Maiden).

Un fils d’une gagnante des Sun Chariot Stakes. Élevé par Rabbah Bloodstock Limited, Noor Al Hawa a grandi au haras du Buff. C’est un fils de Makfi, qui fait désormais la monte au Japon, et de Majestic Roi (Street Cry), lauréate des Sun Chariot Stakes (Gr1) et d’un Gr3 à Newbury. C’est le frère de Majestic Jasmine (New Approach), vainqueur de Listed à Hanovre. Sa deuxième mère, L’Extra Honor (Hero’s Honor) s’est imposée dans le Prix Lord Seymour (L). Elle a produit Black Spirit (Black Minnaloushe), vainqueur du Dubai Duty Free Arc Trial (Gr3), et Hiddnah (Affirmed), qui s’est bien comportée au niveau Listed en Angleterre, prenant la troisième place des Chesham Stakes, des Galtres Stakes et des Godolphin Stakes. C’est la famille de Montélimar (Alleged), gagnant de Gr2 au Curragh.
