MASTER DINO ASSIED SA SUPRÉMATIE CHEZ LES HURDLERS DE 4ANS

Après les forfaits de dernière minute d’Éragone (Martaline) et Éni Light (Network), ils n’étaient plus que quatre concurrents au départ de ce Prix de Maisons-Laffitte (Gr3). On pouvait s’attendre à un nouveau match entre les éternels rivaux Master Dino (Doctor Dino) et Tunis (Estejo), et il a bien eu lieu, tournant encore à l’avantage du premier cité. Parti en troisième position dans le sillage de son compagnon d’entraînement, le représentant de Simon Munir, Isaac Souede, Ann-Sophie & Daniel Allard, Palmyr Racing, Jacques Bisson et Franck Champion a été décalé vers l’extérieur devant les tribunes par son jockey, James Reveley. Il a gardé cette position dans la ligne opposée, Tunis galopant en pleine piste, tandis que Cocolegustachocho (Spirit One) restait à l’intérieur. Master Dino et Tunis ont ensuite sauté les deux dernières haies ensemble, et la lutte a eu lieu sur le plat. Tunis a pris l’avantage quelques instants, mais Master Dino s’est montré coriace, se relançant à son extérieur et s’imposant de trois quarts de longueur devant le beau gris. Ex Fan des Sixties (Poliglote) complète le podium à sept longueurs.

Une participation incertaine, mais qui a porté ses fruits. David Powell, représentant de Simon Munir, nous a dit : « Nous étions très hésitants quant à la participation de Master Dino, car la piste est légère et abîmée. Les deux autres chevaux de Simon Munir, qui devaient participer à l’épreuve, ont d’ailleurs été déclarés non-partants. Nous avons demandé à James Reveley d’aller chercher la meilleure portion de terrain durant le parcours et de ménager le cheval. Il a dit que Master Dino avait beaucoup changé et qu’il était devenu plus calme. La famille Allard s’en est très bien occupée durant l’été. »

Un cheval davantage détendu, et donc plus gérable. James Reveley, jockey de Master Dino, a déclaré au micro d’Equidia : « Il n’y a pas grand-chose entre les deux ; un coup c’est l’un, un coup c’est l’autre ! Mais maintenant que le mien est un peu plus détendu et plus gérable, c’est mieux. Je peux le monter comme je le souhaite. Aujourd’hui, j’ai avancé de bonne heure, mais sa grande force est d’aller tout le temps. D’habitude, il lui manque une course ou deux pour être à 100 %, mais aujourd’hui, nous avons fini devant Tunis, donc c’est tant mieux ! Il devrait bien s’en sortir en terrain lourd et la suite logique, c’est le Prix Renaud du Vivier (Gr1). »

Tunis, le Renaud du Vivier avant le haras. Leader de sa génération sur les haies au printemps de ses 3ans, Tunis avait perdu sa couronne à l’automne, étant notamment battu par Master Dino dans les Prix Georges de Talhouët-Roy (Gr2) et Cambacérès (Gr1). Il avait pris sa revanche dans le Prix d’Indy (Gr3) pour sa rentrée, avant de tomber sur Wildriver (Willywell) dans le Prix de Pépinvast (Gr3). Cette dernière ayant volontairement fait l’impasse sur le Prix Amadou (Gr2), Tunis a pu ajouter un nouveau Groupe à son palmarès déjà bien fourni, mais il s’est ensuite heurté de nouveau à la pouliche dans le Prix Alain du Breil (Gr1). Battu ensuite par Master Dino dans le Prix Questarabad (Gr3), l’entier est de nouveau tombé sur un os ce samedi.

Pierre Goral, copropriétaire du cheval, nous a déclaré : « Nous sommes contents de sa performance. Il a été au repos pendant deux ou trois mois et c’était donc une course de reprise. Nous sommes satisfaits. Les deux chevaux se valent. Nous nous retrouverons dans la belle avec Master Dino et nous espérons qu’il y aura après cela 5 à 2 en faveur de Tunis ! Il rentrera ensuite au haras. »

Ex Fan des Sixties, battue par meilleur. Troisième du Prix Mélanos (L) pour sa rentrée, Ex Fan des Sixties hérite de la troisième place sans surprise. Montée en dernière position durant le parcours, elle a doublé Cocolegustachocho dans le tournant final, mais n’a rien pu faire contre les deux favoris. Son entraîneur, François Nicolle, nous a dit : « La pouliche court très bien. Elle est battue par les deux chevaux de la course. Elle sera bien meilleure en terrain lourd. Je vais voir si je la laisse en haies, ou si je la cours dans le Prix Sytaj (Gr3). »

Allez le Tarn ! Coélevé par Gaëc de la Seguegne et Jean-Michel Campos, Master Dino a grandi dans le Tarn, et il est d’ailleurs le premier gagnant de Gr1 issu de ce département. Présenté à Osarus en septembre 2015, il a été acquis pour 11.000 € par Daniel Allard. C’est un fils de Doctor Dino, étalon au haras du Mesnil, qui traverse une période de forme exceptionnelle, et de Mind Master (Mizzen Mast), trois fois placée en six sorties en plat. C’est le frère de Mind Story (Diamon Green), gagnante de son maiden en plat en province. Deuxième mère de Master Dino, Nimble Mind (Lyphard) a conclu troisième du Prix Vanteaux (Gr3). Il s’agit de la famille de Marketing Mix (Medaglia d’Oro), gagnante de deux Grs1 aux États-Unis.
